Sky Dive in Memory of Leon 2.3.11-12.9.11
God saw you getting tired, when a cure was not to be. So he wrapped his arms around you, and whispered, “come to me.”
Leon 2.3.11-12.9.11
£1,290 raised in memory of Leon
My son Paul and I are doing a Charity Sky Dive in aid of SOFT UK, helping those affected by trisomy 13/18, Patau's and Edwards' syndrome and related disorders. We will be sky diving at altitudes up to 13,000 feet at 12.30 hrs on the 16 July 2011 at Hinton Skydiving Centre Hinton Airfield, Steane, Brackley, Northants, NN13 5NS.
Due to bad weather the Sky Dive was cancelled until the 24th September at 12.30. Visit Joanne and Paul's Page on Virgin Giving.
Joanne and her son Paul completed the skydive in memory of Leon on Saturday 24th September 2011 and the weather was perfect for it. Joanne said, "At 13,000 feet it was the highest skydive we have done. We had 45 seconds free fall and then 3 minutes on parachute, and I was so relaxed as it was for such a good reason in memory of my nephew Leon. The money raised is going to SOFT UK, and so far we have raised an astonishing £1,290.
Below are Joanne and Paul with their two tandem divers, and Sandra (Leon's mother) with Joanne (skydiving Aunty), Nicholas (Leon's dad), and Paul (Leon's cousin and Joanne's son) who also did the skydive.
