ASICS British Half Marathon

May to July 2010 021

Jo and Richard ran the ASICS British 10k on July 11th in memory of Matthew and raised  £2,092 including Gift Aid

‘We discovered SOFT by searching the internet the day after returning from hospital and found their publications a great source of comfort. It would have been a comfort to be given their publication in the hospital and to be put in contact with the charity. It is difficult being given news and then having to go and Google 'Edwards’ syndrome' to find out information.

Obviously by raising money for SOFT, it will help provide support for other parents who may find themselves in our situation. Three weeks after I gave birth to Matthew we started running as we decided we needed to do something in memory of our little boy and to help other people faced with the terrible news that their much wanted pregnancy is going dreadfully wrong.

We have been training 3 or 4 times a week and are beginning to come to terms with what has happened. We want to raise awareness of this terrible syndrome so that other people can be helped through such a difficult time by charities such as SOFT.

The trustees would like to thank Liverpool Victoria for giving an extra £500 under their Charity matching initiative.
