London Marathon

Dave Coffey ran the London Marathon in memory of Louise Emily the baby daughter of Dave and Karen.

Dave Coffey raised  £5,532.64 including Gift Aid in memory of Louise Emily for SOFT UK. Louise Emily had Edwards' syndrome. Dave ran the course in 4hrs 6mins which was a fantastic time as he was recovering from a groin strain, had runner's knee that the doctor told him to rest for 4-6 weeks, and hay fever for the first time in his life!!! At one stage Karen didn't think Dave would be able to run the marathon, but he set off at 6.45 on Sunday and started the race at 9.45am.

Karen and some friends went up to London to support Dave and watched him as he approached the finish line.  It was very emotional, and then they all went back to the Partridge Pub who put on a lovely buffet for everybody and wouldn't take a penny. At the SOFT UK Conference in May, after she presented a cheque for the fantastic amount of £5078.81, Karen said, 'People have been so generous,' I hope my little baby and all the soft angels, in heaven and earth, are proud of us.' Dave and Karen have since raised another £453.83.
