We were given the devastating news about Leah Cerys' terminal illness five days after her birth, and left Birmingham Womens Hospital knowing very little about Edwards Syndrome. We were very fortunate to be put in touch with Acorns Childrens Hospice based in Walsall, and with their love and support we were able to spend time as a family and come to terms with losing our lovely Leah. It also allowed my Son; Callum to spend quality time with his little Sister, and they became devoted to each other. Callum would often sit in his little blue chair, holding the V-Cushion and giving it a tap when it was time for Leah to be put in his gentle care. Only Callum was allowed to give Leah a "smacker" on the lips and that is exactly how I wanted it to be. Leah Cerys is forever in our thoughts and will always be an important member of our family.... "Our Lady With Attitude" is gone but certainly not forgotten!! xxxxxxx
