Caring for your Child

Caring for a child with trisomy 18, trisomy 13 or a related condition can bring many challenges, and much joy.

As every family is unique what might be right for one child may not necessarily be right for another. As parents, you can use the shared memories and experiences of SOFT families as a basis for discussion between you and your medical advisers.

‘Always feel that you can ask for information or advice - as many questions and as often as you need. Ask the people you trust and who can give you the information you need.’

Dr Una MacFadyen, Consultant Paediatrician, Stirling Royal Infirmary
