Family Day 2019

We are delighted to confirm the details for our 2019 Family Day!

It will be held on Saturday 11th May in the Marriot Hotel, Northampton.

To tie in with the launch of our new website section, the event will be Family Stories themed.  We will welcome several families to tell us all about their Trisomy journeys.

There will also be an update on SOFT UK news and short presentations from a number of professionals with Trisomy related research and relevant information.

For those of you who haven’t attended a Family Day before, you can expect a relaxed informal event, where the focus is on maximising opportunities to meet other families and share experiences. There are plenty of social times during the day and breakout spaces to get together for a cuppa.

The children will be well catered for in our creche facilities in the morning and then with entertainments in the afternoon.

There will be a Remembrance Room available for families to use all day. This area will contain many of our Family Stories, our SOFT UK Remembrance Books and a variety of remembrance activities for families who have lost a child. If you would like your child to be remembered in our Remembrance Books, please do bring a photograph, piece of writing, poem, with you to add to the book on the day.

We are also delighted this year to have a photographic exhibition by Same But Different CIC.  Their beautiful exhibition the Rare Project focuses on children and young people with Rare Conditions.  They regularly include children with Trisomy in their work.

The day will close with a short Remembrance Service, a time to reflect and remember those babies, children and adults who are no longer with us. Details of this will be posted nearer the time.
