The 'Facts for Families' booklets produced by SOFT fulfil a desperate need for practical and positive information presented in a sensitive way. Prior to these booklets the only details available about defects of chromosomes 13/18 were clinical data.
Parents can use the shared experiences in Soft publications as a basis for discussion between themselves or their medical advisers. What may be right for one couple may not necessarily be right for another, and families need to be able to make decisions based on an informed choice.
