Emma Carter - Northern Ireland Regional Engagement Officer

Hi, my name is Emma Carter and I recently joined SOFT UK as Regional Engagement Officer for Northern Ireland. 

In this role I will be supporting families affected by Trisomy 13 (Patau Syndrome) and Trisomy 18 (Edward’s Syndrome).

I am passionate about helping people through life’s most challenging times and coming alongside families to offer care, support and help to achieve the best possible outcomes. 

I am fiancee to Kenny and Mum to Ethan (16), Sophia (12) and Amelia, who passed away at 4 ½ months old in 2016 following a diagnosis of Trisomy 18. 

I currently also work as a community midwife in the Northern Trust, providing care for women and their families during the antenatal and postnatal period, as well as planning and facilitating homebirths.

Outside of work I enjoy Hyrox training, getting involved in my local church, visiting coffee shops and walking my dogs Toby and Violet.
