Remembering and Giving
Keeping their memory alive. Supporting families today.
Every child has a story. Every family has memories they carry with them. And for some families, finding a way to honour a much-loved baby or child can be an important part of remembering them.
At SOFT UK, we support families affected by Trisomy 13 (Patau’s syndrome) and Trisomy 18 (Edwards’ syndrome). We understand that every family’s journey is different, and so is the way they choose to remember.
Some families choose to create a fundraising page in memory of their child. Others make a donation, mark a birthday or anniversary, or simply share our work with someone who might need it.
There is no right or wrong way to remember.
Fundraising is always optional. You can take your time, share as much or as little as you wish, and choose what feels right for you and your family.
If you or anybody you know needs to speak to our support team, please reach out to support@soft.org.uk
Choose what feels right for you
Remembering someone special
Creating a remembrance page can be one way to celebrate a much-loved life, share memories and invite friends and family to come together in support of other families.
You might choose to create a page when you feel ready, mark a birthday or anniversary, or take on a personal challenge in their memory. You can decide who to share it with, what to say and how long to keep it open.
There is no deadline, no fundraising target you need to reach and no pressure to share your story publicly.
Ways to remember
Create a remembrance page — a place to share a few words, photographs or memories, and invite donations if you wish.
Mark a special date — invite donations instead of gifts on a birthday or anniversary, if that feels right for you.
Take on a challenge — walk, run or do something meaningful in their memory.
Gather together — organise a small get-together or remembrance activity with friends and family.
Make a private donation — support SOFT UK without creating a public page or sharing personal details.
You don't have to do this alone
You may already have an idea of what you would like to do, or you may simply be exploring the possibilities. Both are absolutely fine.
If you would like some guidance, our team can help you understand the options and find an approach that feels right for you. You do not need to have a plan in place before getting in touch.

Give in a way that works for you
You don't need to organise a fundraiser to make a difference. If you would like to support SOFT UK, there are several ways to give.
Make a one-off donation
A single donation is a simple way to support our work with families affected by Trisomy 13 and Trisomy 18.
Become a regular supporter
A monthly donation can help SOFT UK plan ahead and work towards providing consistent support, information and resources for families.
Choose an amount that works for you. Every contribution is appreciated.
Give in memory or on a special occasion
You may wish to make a donation in memory of someone special, or invite friends and family to donate instead of buying gifts for a birthday or anniversary.
There is no need to create a fundraising page unless you want to.

Help someone find us
Not everyone is in a position to donate. Sharing our website, a social media post or information about SOFT UK can help another family discover the support available to them.
